As the effects of chemicals and chemical-containing articles (toys, textiles, electronics, furniture, automotive parts, etc.) on human health and the environment become better understood, the legislation controlling these risks keeps expanding. In Türkiye, KKDİK and related regulations, and in the European Union, REACH, RoHS and the POPs Regulation set limits for hazardous substances that may be present in products.

How Does the Test Analysis Process Work?
The test analysis process with Doruksistem generally consists of the following steps:
- Preliminary assessment: Your product’s materials, target market and relevant legislation (REACH, RoHS, POPs, toy or food-contact legislation) are assessed together.
- Test plan: We define which parts are tested for which substances, avoiding unnecessary tests to optimise costs.
- Sampling and analysis: Samples are sent to the laboratory and analysed with the relevant standard methods (GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, ICP-OES, XRF, etc.).
- Reporting and interpretation: Results are compared with the limit values and, in case of non-compliance, solution proposals are provided.

How do I know which tests I need?
The required tests depend on the product group, materials and target market. With a preliminary assessment, we identify only the tests that are meaningful for your product.
Is my supplier’s test report sufficient?
It can be used if it is up to date, covers your product and its relevant parts, and was issued by an accredited laboratory. The report should be updated when the supplier, materials or legislation change.
Is an SVHC test the same as a REACH restricted substance test?
No. An SVHC test shows whether Candidate List substances exceed the 0.1% notification threshold, while restricted substance tests check compliance with the bans and limits set in Annex XVII.
How long are test results valid?
There is no fixed validity period in the legislation, but since the Candidate List is updated twice a year and limits can change, reports should be reviewed regularly.
