REACH is a significant regulation in the European Union governing the safe use of chemicals (EC 1907/2006). It came into force on June 1, 2007, requiring all companies producing or importing chemical substances in the EU in quantities greater than 1 tonne per year to register these substances in the central database managed by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). REACH has stipulated three registration deadlines, ending on November 30, 2010, May 31, 2013, and May 31, 2018. From June 1, 2018, all substances subject to REACH must be registered before being placed on the EU Market.
