CHEMICAL ASSESSMENT SPECIALIST (CAS) KDU TRAINING & EXAM
Chemical Assessment Specialists (CAS/KDU) are professionals trained and certified in accordance with Annex 18 of KKDİK, Türkiye’s chemicals regulation modelled on the EU REACH Regulation. Under KKDİK, certified specialists carry out essential tasks such as pre-SIEF and registration, classification and labelling notification, preparation of chemical safety reports, and the preparation and approval of safety data sheets (SDS). The CAS KDU training prepares participants for these tasks and for the KDU certification exam.
Intensive and Interactive Learning Process
CAS KDU training is an intensive programme covering a wide range of subjects. For this reason, the training is delivered without interruption, with participants in constant contact with the trainers, taking part in workshops, exchanging views and working together on case studies.
Participation Criteria
In order to participate in the Chemical Assessment Specialist (CAS/KDU) Training & Exam, the following criteria must be met:
a) Having attended at least 64 hours of KDU training and,
b) Graduating from the undergraduate departments of the Faculties of Arts and Sciences or Faculties of Engineering related to chemistry, biology or environmental sciences*, or
c) To have a master’s degree or doctorate in chemistry, or
d) To have graduated from other undergraduate departments of the university and to have worked in the field of chemical production, laboratory, quality control or chemicals management for at least 5 years.
Relevant Education Fields
Examples of relevant undergraduate programmes in faculties of science, arts and sciences or engineering include biochemistry, biotechnology, chemistry, biology, molecular biology and genetics, bioengineering, biomedical engineering, environmental engineering and chemical engineering. Other programmes whose curriculum is shown to be mainly based on chemistry, biology or environmental sciences are also accepted.
Non-Eligible Graduates & Exceptions
Graduates of other undergraduate programmes (such as mechanical engineering or business administration) must have at least 5 years of work experience in chemical production, laboratory work, quality control or chemicals management to take the CAS/KDU exam.
