CHEMICAL ASSESSMENT SPECIALIST (CAS) KDU TRAINING & EXAM

CHEMICAL ASSESSMENT SPECIALIST (CAS/KDU) are professionals trained and certified according to Annex-18 of the KKDIK regulation. Within the framework of the KKDIK regulation, these specialists are empowered to undertake essential tasks such as pre-SIEF registration, registration, classification and labelling (TR-C&L/S&E) notification, preparation of Chemical Assessment Reports, and the approval, compliance and preparation of Safety Data Sheets (SDS). These activities are crucial for ensuring compliance with the regulation and upholding the highest standards of chemical safety and environmental stewardship.

Intensive and Interactive Learning Process

KDU training is a program that requires intense concentration and work in terms of the subjects it includes. In this sense, it is very important that the trainings are carried out uninterruptedly and that the participants are in constant contact with the trainers, the studies they will participate in, the mutual exchanges of views, and the joint studies on the Training Subjects during the camp period.

Participation Criteria

In order to participate in the Chemical Assessment Specialist (CAS/KDU) Training & Exam, the following criteria must be met:
a) Having attended at least 64 hours of KDU training and,
b) Graduating from the undergraduate departments of the Faculties of Arts and Sciences or Faculties of Engineering related to chemistry, biology or environmental sciences*, or
c) To have a master’s degree or doctorate in chemistry, or
d) To have graduated from other undergraduate departments of the university and to have worked in the field of chemical production, laboratory, quality control or chemicals management for at least 5 years.

Relevant Education Fields

As an example for the undergraduate departments of the Faculties of Science/Literature related to chemistry, biology and environmental sciences in paragraph (b) or the undergraduate departments of the Faculties of Engineering related to chemistry, biology and environmental sciences; Departments such as biochemistry, biotechnology, chemistry, biology, molecular biology and genetic engineering, biomedical engineering, environmental engineering, chemical engineering can be listed. Undergraduate programs mainly include chemistry, Other departments that are shown to include biology and environmental sciences are also included in this scope.

Non-Eligible Graduates & Exceptions

Graduates of undergraduate departments that are not within this scope (such as mechanical engineering, business administration) must meet the requirement (clause three) of having worked for at least 5 years in the field of production, laboratory, quality control or management of chemicals in order to participate in the CAS/KDU exam.
