Shaping the Future of Product Safety in E-Commerce: Insights from the Needs Analysis Workshop
As Doruksistem AS and our group company DorukWell, we proudly participated in the EU-funded Technical Assistance Project on Product Safety in E-Commerce, held at Ankara HiltonSA between 18–20 June 2025.
This comprehensive three-day workshop served as a cornerstone for evaluating the current ecosystem and developing future strategies to enhance digital product safety in Türkiye.
Day 1: Laying the Groundwork (18 June 2025)
The opening day focused on setting the context and initiating thematic discussions:
📌 Regulatory Frameworks: Addressing Türkiye’s alignment with EU product safety legislation.
📌 Digital IT Tools: Reviewing risk assessment methodologies and necessary infrastructure for online product monitoring.
📌 Institutional and Human Resource Needs: Evaluating capacity gaps and collaboration models.
Doruksistem also introduced its digital solution “UseSafe,” designed to strengthen product compliance, traceability, and transparency across e-commerce platforms.
Day 2: Deep-Dive Analyses and Prioritization (19 June 2025)
The second day revolved around thematic group presentations:
Legal and regulatory frameworks
IT infrastructure and risk analysis tools
Institutional needs and collaborative structures
The afternoon session featured a prioritization vote, enabling stakeholders to classify the needs as urgent, medium-term, or long-term.
A special highlight was the closing speech by Dr. Mehmet Mücahit Arvas, LL.M (UK), Ph.D, who provided visionary insights linking field-level implementation with national policy development.
Day 3: Strategic Roadmap and Final Evaluations (20 June 2025)
The final day focused on:
Consolidating group work results
Shaping a joint strategy and action plan
Establishing the analytical foundation for the final project report
