Harmonised Classification and Labelling (CLH) Consultation
The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) regularly holds “Harmonised Classification and Labelling” (CLH) consultations to improve the safe classification and labelling of chemicals and mixtures. This process aims to enhance public and environmental safety by evaluating hazardous substances‘ danger classes.

Consultation Process
- Evaluation and Announcement: Submitted chemical dossiers are checked for compliance with legal requirements.
- Participation and Feedback: Stakeholders can comment on hazard classes, substance identification, and other issues. These comments are reviewed by the Risk Assessment Committee (RAC) and the dossier submitter.
- Finalisation: RAC prepares the final opinion considering all input and submits it to the European Commission for a decision.
