In order to participate in the Chemical Assessment Specialist (CAS/KDU) Training & Exam, the following criteria must be met: 

a) Having attended at least 64 hours of KDU training and,

b) Graduating from the undergraduate departments of the Faculties of Arts and Sciences or Faculties of Engineering related to chemistry, biology or environmental sciences*, or ,

c) To have a master’s degree or doctorate in chemistry, or,

d) To have graduated from other undergraduate departments of the university and to have worked in the field of chemical production, laboratory, quality control or chemicals management for at least 5 years.

*As an example for the undergraduate departments of the Faculties of Science/Literature related to chemistry, biology and environmental sciences in paragraph (b) or the undergraduate departments of the Faculties of Engineering related to chemistry, biology and environmental sciences; Departments such as biochemistry, biotechnology, chemistry, biology, molecular biology and genetic engineering, biomedical engineering, environmental engineering, chemical engineering can be listed. Undergraduate programs mainly include chemistry, Other departments that are shown to include biology and environmental sciences are also included in this scope.

Graduates of undergraduate departments that are not within this scope (such as mechanical engineering, business administration) must meet the requirement (clause three) of having worked for at least 5 years in the field of production, laboratory, quality control or management of chemicals in order to participate in the CAS/KDU exam.
