Poison Centre Notifications Must Be in Harmonised Format by January 1, 2025
The transition period for poison centre notifications is coming to an end. Starting January 1, 2025, all notifications for hazardous mixtures placed on the EU market must comply with the harmonised format as outlined in Annex VIII of the Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) Regulation.
End of the Transition Period
During the transition period, companies were allowed to continue placing hazardous mixtures on the market under non-harmonised national requirements. However, from January 1, 2025, such notifications will no longer be compliant with the CLP Regulation. Companies that wish to continue placing these mixtures on the market will need to submit new notifications in the harmonised format, which includes providing the Unique Formula Identifier (UFI) on the product label.
New Submission Requirements and UFI Code
ECHA recommends that notifiers use the ECHA Submission Portal to prepare and submit their notifications in the required format. The inclusion of the UFI on labels will become mandatory as part of the new reporting standards.
Support and Assistance
For more information or assistance, visit the support page on the poison centre website or contact your national authority or the ECHA Helpdesk.
Starting January 1, 2025, all poison centre notifications must meet the new harmonised format. It is crucial for companies to ensure compliance with these regulations to avoid disruptions in placing hazardous mixtures on the EU market.
